Manatee County Radio Controller’s, Inc. Membership minutes October 30, 2005
Meeting called to order at 12:30 by President Ray Thompson, a quorum was established. Secretary’s report . Motion made to accept September Membership Minutes by Dave Tuttle and 2nd by Ray Call to accept as published in the newsletter PU. Treasurer’s report by Rick Wheeler: At this time we have a total of $8,459.42 in the bank. Of this only $7,439.42 is available since the balance is prepaid dues for 2006. Motion made by Billy Dilworth and 2nd by Dave Grenier to accept as read, PU. Safety officer John Walton reported things are going good at this time. Activities committee report Jim Holloman reported that the next supper is at Golden Coral on November 2, 2005 @ 6:30 PM. Christmas supper is planned for December 6, 2005 at Bradenton Yacht Club again arranged by Billy Dilworth. Price to be announced, should be about the same as last year. See Billy Dilworth for your reservations now. We will again have the ornament exchange as we have done in the past. Membership: New members at this time are Ralph Huffman, Bob Grothe, Sam Ware, John Santonocito, Anton Jacobsen, Owen Richards, and Paul Binkley, Welcome to our new members. Field design and upgrade committee had no report this month. Field maintenance chairman Steve Bevington reports the covers for the set up area are in the concession and can be used by any member. If you put one up you are responsible to take it down. Flight training: Jim Holloman reported that new members have been through orientation. Funding committee: The paint ball field is on hold waiting for one more form from the county before they can open. Also we are looking at getting a big screen TV to raffle off in March. We are running a phone survey to see how the membership feels about selling tickets at $5.00 each. Presidents report, Membership at 113 members, with 8 life members, 1 junior, 2 associates, and 8 family members. Thanks to Steve and his crew for the good job of keeping the field ready for all of us to fly any time. Information received is that the Valkeries board has resigned and a new club being formed north of where they are located now. Lisa Foley will be bringing out some boy scouts to fly at a later date yet to be set. Nominating committee Only had one name to present to the membership and two more were nominated from the floor. The committee only had Dave Tuttle, and from the floor Skip North and Charles Johnson were both nominated. The ballot will show these three names and there will be a place for write in candidates. Next board meeting on November 9, at Jones Aviation and the next club meeting here at the field on November 27,. The December meeting will be one week earlier since Christmas day is the last Sunday in the month. 50 - 50 drawing was won by Charles Johnson, he got $36.00. Motion was made by Dave Tuttle and 2nd by Steve Bevington for the meeting to adjourned at 1:07 PM PU. |
